Design for Behaviour Change: Out!

Out! was the culmination of an extended project that combined in-depth research with an extensive phase of design and testing. The app used behaviour-change theories to engage young people with nature more.

Experience Design: Habit

Our Experience Design module was a fast-paced project that required rapid ideation and experience prototyping to develop an app that uses smart meter data to improve users’ home energy usage.

This project was my first foray into service design and proved to be an engaging, exciting project. We were tasked with designing a service that implemented positive social change. Working in a new field was challenging, but working together as a group to produce an innovative service was extremely rewarding.

Industry Project: Severn Trent’s Wild Weekends

Working alongside Severn Trent in the industry project was a huge learning opportunity. We were able to work on a live brief in a group with a variety of different life experiences, nationalities, and cultures, meaning we had to be highly communicative and supportive of one another as we worked.

Chris Blackett

As an aspiring UX/UI designer, I have a keen eye for detail, passion for design and I’m eager to learn more and further enhance my skill set.

I'm interested in all elements of the design process, from conception to completion. My best work comes from projects that have a strong focus on the user's experience, which has been the case throughout my work in both digital and product design. I'm an inquisitive designer with a keen interest in creating intuitive experiences with a focus on users' needs, as shown by my focus on medical design through my undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The range of projects undertaken through my five years at Loughborough demonstrates my adaptability, as I’ve touched on service design, product design, and UX design in various projects. I’m continuing to develop as a designer as I move into permanent employment, and have joined Volvo Cars’ Global Graduate Programme as a UX Designer to gain further experience in a variety of areas across the automotive and design industries.
