Samuel Travel Guitar
The Samuel Travel Guitar was designed to combat the issues present in existing products such as poor balance and discomfort during use with no compromise. The unique shape and headless design of this guitar redistributes the weight so that the balancing issue is resolved and makes it just as easy to play as a regular guitar. It also features a removable leg rest and neck which can be oriented space efficiently in its custom case. When fully collapsed and packed away, it fits within the size restrictions for air travel hand luggage.

Storyboard
Above shows the process to collapse the guitar and pack it away in its case. The neck is removed by loosening the four bolts that secure the neck into threaded inserts that are sunk into the body. The leg rest rods slide in and out of the body and is simply held in place with a magnet which makes its removal quick and easy.
Concept Development
This image demonstrates the development of the initial concept including the ideation of the different mechanisms and the production of the fully functional prototype.
Prototype Evaluation
The fully functional prototype was tested by playing, dismantling and reassembling repeatedly with very positive results across every test. User feedback was also performed online with the target demographic to retrieve feedback for future design iterations.
